Medisave
Medisave is the national savings scheme which helps individuals put aside part of their income in their Medisave Accounts to meet their personal or their dependants' hospitalisation expenses, especially after retirement. Dependants refer to spouse, children, parents and grandparents. Grandparents must be Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents.

Medishield & Enhanced Medishield
MediShield is an individual catastrophic medical insurance designed to help Singaporeans pay part of the large hospitalisation bills for treatment as well as certain outpatient treatment expenses such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The monthly or annual premiums are paid from one’s Medisave account.

If you had purchased an Enhanced Medishield plan from an approved private insurer, there will be a higher coverage for your chemotherapy treatment expenses. This is because the enhanced plan is integrated with Medishield and provides protection on top of what Medishield covers. Please approach your insurer to verify the withdrawal limit for your Enhanced Medishield plan.

You can obtain information about your Medisave balance or Medishield coverage from Central Provident Fund (CPF) via online or hotline 1800-227-1188.
How to utilise your Medisave and/or Medishield?
Payment is required upon completion of each visit at The Cancer Centre. If you were to utilise your Medisave and/ or Medishield, the amount claimable will be in the form of re-imbursments by cheque.
The Cancer Centre will assist you with the process of utilizing your Medisave and/ or Medishield. In order to do so, you will need to provide us with the following:
1) Photocopies of patient’s and ^Medisave Account Holder’s NRICs
2) Accurate information on your Medishield plan i.e. type of plan and name of insurer. Please bring along your CPF statement
3) Completed Medisave Authorisation Form for Outpatient Treatment
The Cancer Centre will submit the information together with the invoices to the relevant parties. No further action will be required on your part.
Please note:
The bill will be paid by MediShield first before Medisave is withdrawn to settle the balance. The Medisave and MediShield claim cannot exceed the total bill.
^ If you do not have enough Medisave savings, you can use your immediate family members' Medisave savings. Withdrawal limit is based on per patient/ per chemotherapy cycle.
Employment Health Benefits
If you are currently employed, your company’s Human Resource Department will be able to provide you information on your medical benefits and/ or medical insurance coverage under your company’s group health insurance plan. If your health insurance plan is one of the below mentioned, you may be entitled for cashless service at our clinic. A referral letter from your general practitioner (GP) may also be required for your initial visit to us.

Private Health Insurance Plans
If you have purchased insurance policies, you may want to contact your insurer to verify your eligibility to make a claim e.g. under Critical illness.
International Expatriate Insurance Plans
If you are an expatriate and have an insurance plan that covers you globally, please contact your insurer to obtain information on your medical coverage. With a Letter of Guarantee, direct billing arrangement can be made with the insurer.
