The Cancer Centre @ Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre

The Cancer Centre (TCC), a subsidiary of the Singapore Medical Limited Group (SMG), opened its second clinic at the Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre in December 2009. With the two cancer centres, TCC @ Paragon Medical and TCC @ Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre, we aim to serve our patients better.

Commenting on the opening of TCC @ Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre, Dr Cheryl Baumann, CEO of SMG said, "The vision of the Group is to be a family name that is synonymous with excellent and affordable medical services. The Group also has a philosophy of developing into the ‘best of its kind’ in whatever medical discipline that it chooses to embark upon. Our team of medical doctors, nurses and counsellors contribute to the clinical expertise of the centre and provides personalised care to our patients and their loved ones. We will continue to develop and expand our medical services, so as to achieve greater success for SMG."

Our doctor:

Dr Wong Seng Weng is the Medical Director of TCC. He specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of adult cancers with special interest in breast cancers, lung cancers and gastrointestinal cancers. He is currently a Visiting Consultant at the National University Hospital. Dr Wong was previously the Consultant Medical Oncologist and Senior Partner in Raffles Hospital. Dr Wong obtained his basic medical degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) under the Lim Boon Keng and Tan Siak Kew Scholarships and graduated on the Dean's List.

He completed his post-graduated training in Internal Medicine and obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP UK). Thereafter, he achieved Specialist Accreditation with the Ministry of Health Singapore and was admitted as Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore (FAMS) and College of Physicians of Singapore. Dr Wong continued his practice in the National University Hospital and was appointed Clinical Tutor of the Clinical Faculty of NUS. Apart from pursuing his clinical practice, Dr Wong was keenly involved as an investigator in over twenty clinical trials exploring new methods of cancer treatment. Dr Wong is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) as well as the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and Singapore Society of Oncology.
